I'm currently on vacation in Turks and Caicos and loving it! What's not to love? It's 82 degrees. Back home in Brooklyn it's in the 30's. However before I left it was a very busy week! A new season is here and with that is a changeover of products in addition to restocking some of my current clients. Here are a few of the aprons I have been working on.
The Yes Master apron is exclusive to Shag in Williamsburg Brooklyn. The top fabric is from Spoonflower and the bottom fabric is a Kaufman medium weight rail stripe. It has a front box pleat and one pocket. Definitely more of a girly feel. Shag is an independent store in Brooklyn that is owned by two fantastic women. You can find out more here.
Also exclusive to Shag are kitschy pin up napkins. These come as one sided or reversible to a subtle white on white hash print.
This season I have been working on more half aprons. There seems to me quite a few requests for cafe style aprons. The below is a classic railroad stripe. Two different size pockets in a different stripe, lined in a pop color fabric as usual and top stitched with a thick denim thread in red. On the wearer's left side is a towel loop in classic French grosgrain. The same grosgrain is on the inside waistband. This style apron lands right above the knee. A good length for men and women.
Two other new styles that I am working on is a Japanese style apron and a Butcher's apron in a new home dec weight twill fabric.
This is a photo from my studio, workshop shot in action.
